About Us

Philosophy, Mission and Vision
At Carpe Diem, our mission is to change our clients’ lives. This may seem vague, but understanding our philosophy and vision may clarify really what is meant by this statement. We have been in the health and fitness business for over 20 years and our goal has always been to find ways to encourage movement that enhances the overall quality of life for those that participate in our programs. We feel that there are a number of components that contribute to success of our clientele.
First, there is a technical component to our work. At Carpe Diem we invest in ongoing technical training for our staff in both the Pilates and CoreAlign environments, as well as in traditional health and fitness techniques and rehabilitation practices. We believe in a logical and scientific approach toward movement. Taking these foundational building blocks, we have developed a very client friendly progression in both the Pilates and CoreAlign class settings. This progressional approach allows our clientele to not just participate in exercises, but develop an understanding of how each particular exercise is part of a larger developmental movement process. Within this process, we strive to master what healthy movement is for each individual person. When moving toward healthy movement, we move away from unhealthy, destructive movement patterns.
Second, there is a strong psychological approach to our work. When a potential client approaches us for our services, we know that the only way that they are going to be successful is to commit to the process we are proposing for them. This commitment is established through trust. Trust in the ability of our instructors. Trust in Carpe Diem as a company. Trust in your personal plan and its direction. From our perspective, trust is psychological and an integral part of our mission. This trust allows growth in our clients.
Third, there is a commitment to the strength and growth of the industry that Carpe Diem is a part of. We take part on industry boards of directors, are master trainers in the CoreAlign, Teacher Trainers in Pilates, and have developed the Carpe Diem Group Equipment Training Systems (GETS) Program that has allowed a business model to be implemented in the Pilates and CoreAlign settings around the Unites States allowing a structured approach to successful business practices.
Lastly, there is commitment to our employees, as we feel that we are only as good as our people. Not only do we want them to be successful working in the industry, but we also want them to be successful and happy as individuals in their own lives outside the industry. As a Carpe Diem employer, we are committed to this “big picture” with our employees and their families.
With the implementation of our Bonsai philosophy, we feel we can describe this vision with the artists interpretation of the Carpe Diem Bonsai tree. Although a Bonsai Tree can look small and mangled at first glance, upon closer look you can realize that this tree has been cared for, guided and developed to take a very specific form. A form that is meaningful and solid. A structure that is Rooted in foundation and growth. This is our philosophy at Carpe Diem. We create the solid foundation that our clients can “root” themselves in. A foundation that allows development and growth in the direction that is best for them. A growth that opens them up to realize that they are capable, strong and beautiful.
