Education:
B.S. Human Physiology, University of Oregon , 2004.

My exposure to fitness began at the age of eleven. Many situations and people inspired me at that young age, but I'll admit it was just fun. I have always enjoyed exercising as much as I enjoyed the many rewards that it provided. My training regimen, as well as my knowledge and respect for the human body has greatly evolved over the years. Surely, the one thing that has only heightened is my enthusiasm for fitness and the hope that I can help others realize the many benefits of physical activity. While exercise is a big part of what I do, it's not the only emphasis.

At the University of Oregon I had many opportunities to learn about the human body; it's anatomy, physiology, how it develops throughout a lifetime, reacts to stress, injury, and exercise, or lack there of. I also had the pleasure of working with and learning from many experts in the field, including physiologists, cardiologists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, strength coaches, even an Olympic coach. While earning my degree I worked in a fitness facility for two years. I then had the opportunity to assist athletic trainers at local high schools for two years, working with athletes and coaches in injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.

My belief is that fitness incorporates the mind, body, and soul and includes a balance of physical activity and rest, support, stress relief, and good nutrition. “Carpe Diem” means seize the day, and that is our philosophy as well as our personal goal with each and every person we have the privilege to work with.
