I have always been interested in and fascinated by movement. My first true exposure was as a competetive gymnast. Competing for seven years through the elite level, this was my primary sport and took up almost all of my time as a teenager. This led me to coaching gymnastics for an additional five years. During this time my interest in how we move the body grew. Entering into my college career, my intent was to continue through into physical therapy. I began this path at the University of Oregon, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Movement Science in 1994. [more]

As a little girl and throughout my teenage years I was involved in many different competitive sports, with the consistent thread being sprinting and dance. During my early years, I also became aware that many people don’t feel comfortable being in and moving their bodies. With the love, respect and interest of the body, I attended the University of Oregon pre-med program. Having a personal life path change of family and children, I returned to teaching dance with the sole-heart intention of helping people understand and feel good moving in their bodies. [more]

While growing up in Anchorage, Alaska I spent most of my time in the dance studio. In addition to taking a wide range of dance classes and rehearsing, I began to spend time as the assistant for one of my instructors; developing my teaching skills and sparking an ongoing interest in helping others enjoy their movement experience. I continued to teach dance classes in Eugene as I worked on my degree at the University of Oregon. After graduation, I began taking Pilates classes at Carpe Diem, realizing how beneficial the classes were not only for my body but also for my state of mind. [more]

My exposure to fitness began at the age of eleven. Many situations and people inspired me at that young age, but I'll admit it was just fun. I have always enjoyed exercising as much as I enjoyed the many rewards that it provided. My training regimen, as well as my knowledge and respect for the human body has greatly evolved over the years. [more]

The human body has been the primary curiosity in my life for a long time. It seems from as far back as I can remember that I have been fascinated by athletics and its effects on an individual’s physical and emotional well-being. This thirst for knowledge of our bodies has first led me to attain a B.S. in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon, and in the future a doctorate in the field of Chiropractic. My ultimate goal is to one day be able to answer any question an individual may have about their body and how to properly care for it.  [more]
